Last weekend we had the pleasure of meeting Peyton James' mother, Jackie, at the "Red Poppy Festival" in Austin, Texas. Sadly, she lost her 13 year-old son Peyton to suicide last fall, after suffering many years at the hands of bullies at school. Jackie is now working to make sure other people recognize their value. She started a campaign called "Kindness Matters," aimed at spreading the message of caring for one another, just like Peyton did.
It was very sad for us to hear this story from a mom with a broken heart, but at the same time we found her words encouraging as we learned how her campaign is striving to save other innocent lives through the simple of act of kindness to one another.
